Support Jonah's Library & Science Lab!

Jonah has been a wonderful supporter of Roots Ethiopia. Together with his community, he has donated funds to deliver the power of education to students in rural Ethiopia with these amazing projects:

  • Created a school’s first library (Jonah’s Hands Library).
  • Built a hands-on science classroom (Jonah’s Hands-On Science Lab).
  • Supplied the school with desks, blackboards, and a lot of excitement!

In celebration of Gena (Ethiopian Christmas) and the New Year, Roots Ethiopia is collaborating with Jonah to auction off this limited edition Jonah Doll from Yarnized!

The Jonah Doll features Jonah’s signature Pom Pom hat as well as a “crochet away” jacket and an Ethiopian scarf and blanket to show pride for his birth country. Click here to watch his video message!

This is a silent auction and the Jonah Doll and all other inclusions will go to the highest bidder. Please read our terms & conditions at the bottom of the page.

We will be announcing the most current leading bid on Roots Ethiopia’s social media accounts until the auction ends. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates.

The winner will be contacted by a representative from Roots Ethiopia.


Terms & Conditions

You must be a minimum age of 18 years to participate in this online auction. Furthermore, you must be able to enter into legally binding contracts. By submitting your bid information, you warrant that you are 18 or older, have the capacity to enter into contracts and understand your obligations under these Terms & Conditions. Your entry will be considered null and void if you are under the age of 18.

This auction is open to all countries (US & International) and bid amounts are in US Dollars.

If the winner lives outside of the US, the winner shall shoulder all shipping costs, including customs fees of their country if applicable.

By bidding in Roots Ethiopia’s silent auction for the Jonah Doll, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

  1. Roots Ethiopia reserves the right to validate the highest bid at any time during the auction.
  2. Auction is open on January 7th, 2021, 10am (US Central Standard Time) until January 12th, 2021, 4pm (US Central Standard Time). Only bids placed during that timeframe will qualify.
  3. All bids must be placed on this page ( Bids placed in other avenues will be null and void.
  4. Starting bid is $200 USD; and bids must be higher than the starting bid and placed in increments of $25 USD.
  5. All bids that are lower than the starting bid of $200 USD will be disregarded.
  6. Users may bid multiple times throughout the auction period (January 7th, 2021 to January 12th, 2021). Roots Ethiopia will consider a user’s latest bid as their final bid when the auction closes.
  7. The highest bidder at the end of the auction will be contacted by a representative from Roots Ethiopia through the email address given during the bidding.
  8. If a winner is unable to be contacted after one week, the entry will be marked null and void; and the next highest bidder will be contacted by a representative from Roots Ethiopia through the email address given during the bidding.
  9. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.” Roots Ethiopia has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance, or condition of the items. No statement made in this page or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
  10. The amount you pay above the fair market value in an auction is normally tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax adviser to clarify the amount of deduction.
  11. Payment for items purchased must be made in full at least two weeks after the auction ends. Roots Ethiopia accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, or a check made payable to Roots Ethiopia.
  12. Following successful payment, Roots Ethiopia will contact the winner on how the item will be delivered (including any postage and customs fees if applicable).
  13. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Roots Ethiopia, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
