Frehiwot has a BSci in Agricultural Economics from Yardistic International College. He has many years of experience working in various contexts, including the Agriculture and Rural Development Office, Agricultural Research Center, the Ethiopian Kalehiwot Church (SW Zone), and Farm Africa. He also has experience in working for child-centered community development programs.
