These are beautiful and made right in Addis! The fabric shop and the tailor are in the merkato and they LOVE working together to create lovely sheti for you.
Sheti are Ethiopian house dresses — worn all over the country. They are like a muumuu or caftan, but in Ethiopia, they are also worn outside of the house.
Wearing a sheti includes mastering the ‘underwear tuck’ to adjust the length and also create a little ‘cargo space’ for things like your phone or wallet. 🙂
