A gorgeous photo that is often featured in our photography events. It measures 18×24 with a .75 inch canvas wrap.
“There is hardly a vista in this part of Ethiopia that does not have a human figure somewhere within it. This is one of the most densely populated areas of Ethiopia. Exquisitely quiet after a busy harvest, homes pepper the landscape. “Gojo Bet” is the work for a traditional Ethiopian home. The walls are made of mud, the rooftops of grasses. Closely related to the Hebrew word for house or home, the gojo bet is a living place, a site of birth and death, always under construction or fresh from repairs. To be invited inside someone’s gojo bet is to become like family. I am honored to say I have been invited into more than one.”
